Due to the nature of the program, late arrivals of more than 30 minutes cannot join midway.
If you arrive just a little bit late (5-10 minutes), please knock before entering and we’ll help you get caught up while the other guests are working.

There is no private parking available. If arriving by car, please search for paid public parking areas near our shop beforehand.

Dress comfortably :) We provide happi coats and aprons to be worn over your clothes, so there is no need to wear anything special.

Unfortunately, we do not accept walk-in guests. Reservations made as late as the previous day are required in order to ensure we have the freshest ingredients available for our guests.

Our cancellation policy is below:
– Cancellation 7 to 2 days before your reservation: 30% of your total booking fee.
– Cancellation on the day before your reservation: 50% of your total booking fee.
– Cancellation on the day of your reservation: 100% of your booking fee (ie. no refund).

Participants as young as 7 years old are more than welcome when accompanied by a guardian. Please refrain from bringing children younger than 7. Please feel free to contact us if you have any other requests, needs or concerns regarding your individual situation.

Yes, it is mandatory for elementary school children to be accompanied by a guardian.

Unfortunately, our sushi shop is located on the basement floor at the bottom of a narrow staircase. Also, our building’s elevator does not allow access to our basement-level shop. Because of these restrictions as well as the lack of a ramp within the shop itself, we currently cannot accommodate guests in wheelchairs. However, as this Akasaka location is only our first location, wheelchair access will be available at other locations moving forward. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to inviting you into a more comfortable environment in the future.

Soy, wheat, and fish are essential ingredients, so those with allergies or dietary restrictions related to these should reconsider their participation. Please inform us of any other allergies when booking. We will not be able to accommodate any allergies or special requests unless we receive advance notice at the time of your reservation.

・5 traditional “nigiri” sushi
・1 “maki” (roll) sushi

You’ll be enjoying 7 total sushi plus a bowl of chirashi sushi at the end. Depending on how hungry you are at the end, you can adjust the amount of rice and toppings for the chirashi sushi to satisfy even the hungriest of guests :)

Of course! Your entire experience will be conducted in English! While the sushi master is a native Japanese speaker, your presenter will be guiding and translating in English throughout your experience. Any questions or comments are more than welcome and we’ll happily interpret if you need help.

The total experience is around 1 hour and 40 minutes. Our basic time schedule is below: (subject to change depending on conditions on the day)

05 min – Introduction and changing into your sushi chef outfit
15 min – Sushi quiz & rice prep
20 min – Sushi quiz & nigiri lesson
10 min – Maki sushi lesson
10 min – Sushi Master Challenge
20 min – Meal, toppings, making chirashi sushi
10 min – Ending movie, presentation of certificates
10 min – Japanese tea tasting

Studio Sushi is more than just a cooking class; it’s sushi entertainment! It’s packed with fun elements like sushi quizzes and challenges to aid in your sushi mastery. Plus, you can step behind the luxurious and traditional sushi counter to make sushi, something that is normally not permitted at sushi restaurants in Japan. You’ll learn sushi-making from scratch, so you can have sushi parties with family and friends afterward!
You’ll also receive a sushi-making video as a gift, so you can review what you learned even after returning home. Thanks to our own camera person, you’ll also have access to all fo the photo and video data ready to download and post before you leave!

Absolutely! First, you’ll learn the basics through video, then practice each step with the sushi master. Individual advice and feedback will also be provided.

Like many places in Japan, our restaurant is small so please bring as little baggage as possible. Large luggage such as suitcases may be left at the entrance but we cannot be responsible for them.
